MAKE EVERY STEP COUNT

Count calendar days with an explicit end-date rule

Plan schedules and compare dates with a calendar-day calculation that is unaffected by daylight-saving clock changes.

Plan an interval

Count the calendar days between a starting date and a later milestone. Decide whether your use case means elapsed days or includes both dates; that choice affects the result by one day.

Check a schedule length

Use the week-and-day breakdown to understand a longer interval without mentally dividing the total. The result includes weekends and holidays, so it should not be treated as a working-day schedule or a legal deadline calculation.

Get the best result

The default count excludes the end date: Monday to Tuesday is one day. The end date must be on or after the start date.

SEE WHAT TO EXPECT

A practical example

Starting point
Start: 2026-10-10. End: 2026-10-17. Include end date: off.
Expected result
7 calendar days, or 1 whole week and 0 days.

Enabling Include the end date changes this example to 8 days. Dates are compared as calendar dates rather than local clock times.

Troubleshooting and useful checks

My expected result is one day different

Check the Include the end date option. Standard elapsed-day counting treats a date to itself as zero days; inclusive counting treats that same selection as one day.

The range is rejected

Choose valid dates with the end on or after the start. The tool does not return a negative duration for reversed selections.

HELPFUL ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

A little clarity before you get started.

Does this count only business days?

No. It counts every calendar day, including weekends and holidays.

Does this exclude weekends or public holidays?

No. Every calendar day is included. Business-day counting requires a working-week definition and a holiday calendar, neither of which is used here.

Do daylight-saving changes affect the total?

The calculation compares calendar dates using UTC-based date arithmetic. It is intended to avoid local daylight-saving clock shifts changing the count of calendar days.

Can this calculate an exact duration in hours?

No. The fields contain dates, not times or time zones. It counts calendar days and provides a whole-week breakdown, rather than the precise elapsed hours between two moments.

Should I use this to determine a legal deadline?

Use it as a general planning aid. A formal deadline can depend on specific inclusion rules, working days, holidays, and local procedures that this calendar-day calculator does not evaluate.

Do I need an account to use this tool?

No. This tool is free to use without signing in. An account lets you keep a list of favorite tools.

Can I use this on a phone?

Yes, with a current browser. File support, download behavior, and available memory vary by device. For large documents and images, a computer is often more comfortable.
