Meet an upload requirement
A website or application may accept JPEG but reject WebP or another supported source format. Load the image, select an accepted output format, and review the preview before uploading the converted copy.
Convert an image to PNG, JPEG, or WebP.
Choose the format that suits your workflow. Use PNG for transparency, JPEG for widely compatible photographs, or WebP for modern web images.

Use PNG when preserving transparency is important, or compare JPEG and WebP for a photograph. Format choice is only part of optimization; resizing an oversized image can have a larger effect on its file size.
JPEG fills transparent pixels with white. Quality applies to JPEG and WebP, not PNG. Converting format cannot restore detail lost in the original.
A transparent PNG exported as JPEG at 85% quality.
A JPEG image with the same pixel dimensions and white where the source was transparent.
JPEG does not support transparency. The selected quality controls lossy JPEG and WebP encoding; it does not change PNG compression quality.
Different formats encode the same pixels differently. An already optimized original can be smaller than a new export. Compare output size and appearance, then try another format or use Image compressor.
Choose a format your browser can decode, such as PNG, JPEG, or WebP. A filename extension alone does not guarantee the file contains a valid image.
A little clarity before you get started.
No. Conversion produces a single still image.
The converter retains the source width and height. Use Image resizer when you also need a different number of pixels.
No. Saving as PNG avoids another lossy JPEG export, but it cannot recover details that are missing from the source image. Always use the best available original.
PNG and WebP can retain transparent pixels. JPEG output uses a white background because JPEG does not support transparency.
The tool exports a still canvas image. Animation, EXIF information, and other source metadata are not preserved. Keep the original if those features matter.

Yes, with a current browser. File support, download behavior, and available memory vary by device. For large documents and images, a computer is often more comfortable.
